While living on Taveuni Viola and Roland got to know Simmi, Kamal and their sons who had a great house overlooking the ocean just up the road. And, importantly, they had a clean, reliable car and were always on time. They became friends and when the kids moved to Suva to study, Dolphin Bay Divers Retreat, Taveuni Guesthouse was born. Overlooking the Somosomo Strait this is a Bed and Breakfast which you will not forget. Discover Taveuni, the waterfalls or just relax and enjoy Simmi’s great Indian food.

In any event we all welcome you to share our paradise!

Dolphin Bay Divers

When Switzerland became too small for Roland he traveled the world, taking up diving in the early 80s and ending up with a dive shop on Taveuni, Fiji’s 3rd largest island thinking he would live there happily ever after. However, Viola had other ideas. On holiday from sunny southern California where she had moved from Germany, they met in July 2000 and unwilling to let romance and diving go, moved to Fiji in November of 2000. For 3 years they ran Susie’s Plantation Resort until in 2003 Dolphin Bay Divers Retreat was born on Vanua Levu.

Viola and Roland

Accessible by boat only, this hideaway is the ideal place for diving and relaxing. Together with a small Fijian staff they have built an intimate eco-resort just minutes away from all the famous dive sites on the Rainbow Reef.
Power comes from a mixture of solar and generator, so please leave your haidryer at home.
